What is the difference between acne scars and acne discoloration?

I’ve been wondering all this time what those reddish brownish purplish marks left on my face are called…I know acne scars are permanent

Usually, the discoloration on the scar will fade with time. The bit that is usually permanent is the indented bit, although there are treatments for that. Try not to worry about it, I have some as well and I’m going to see my doctor soon.
