What causes acne marks (hyper-pigmentation) after acne?
My acne used to fade rather quickly without leaving a mark, and then one day, I had a horrible breakout. I thought the acne would eventually disappear, but it just left an ugly brown mark. From then on, it seems that whenever I breakout, it leaves a mark. It is eventually fading, but I want to know how it happened and what I can do to prevent it. I have been skipping sunscreen during the summer, could that be why? Also, my body acne still don’t leave a mark. Could it be something I use?

i have that problem to… idkk y =/
you should see the red marks on my face, I have to exfoliate and get facials every month for a year to rid of em
you know how when a cut heals on your skin it leaves a red mark? same idea.
Remember to always use sunscreen. If you have been putting toothpaste on it, that could be the cause. Picking, scratching, and popping them can leave scars. Also, are you sure you aren’t just getting freckles? It could possibly be something you use. You should visit a dermatologist. Don’t make a diagnosis over the internet, you can freak yourself out with people saying things like ‘it’s a melanoma’ even if they know nothing.
sorry don’t know
do you pick at it? i have a friend with horrible acne spots leftover from acne she had four years ago. she is now a senior in college…
just be sure not too use facial cremes or toners with too high an acidity – that may be irritating your skin. if all else fails, see a dermatologist.
for really bad acne, try applying baking soda. my sister is in her acne stage right now, and that seems to work for her.
good luck!
The deeper the pimple is the more noticeable of a mark it will leave. The marks slowly disappear because layers of skin are being naturally washed away! Also never pick or pop your pimples because this will cause definite scaring.
P.S. NEVER skip sun screen because if you continue to do that you may have bigger problems to worry about!!
