What causes acne, and is there alternative treatments than pills?

What causes acne? Is there other treatments other than pills on the market that works 100% effective. Is there any laser treatments out there that can treat the cause of acne?

Usually the cause is oily skin, especially during the teenage years. I used to wash my face every day with Ivory soap. It’s 99.44 percent pure soap, so it’ll dry your skin out. Then, whenever I had a small breakout, I would use a tinted acne medicine, like Oxy 10. Worked like a charm.
Acne is the term for plugged pores (blackheads and whiteheads), pimples, and even deeper lumps (cysts or nodules) that occur on the face, neck, chest, back, shoulders and even the upper arms. Acne affects most teenagers to some extent. However, the disease is not restricted to any age group; adults in their 20s – even into their 40s – can get acne. While not a life threatening condition, acne can be upsetting and disfiguring. When severe, acne can lead to serious and permanent scarring. Even less severe cases can lead to scarring.

Its quite expensive, however. A last resort. Many soaps and moisturizers work very well.
