Cystic Acne Treatments – What Are the Best Ones Available?

Article by Ken Fong

One of the most severe forms of acne vulgaris is cystic acne, otherwise also known as nodulocystic acne. If you become aware of cystic acne developing, you should seek treatment immediately due to long term effects it may have on your skin. Any delays in doing will increase your chances of getting permanent acne scars, since this form of acne is much more severe than other forms of acne.

What you will find in this article is a look at various forms of cystic acne treatment normally prescribed, as well as their advantages and disadvantages. That being said, it is perhaps more beneficial to understand cystic acne’s characteristics first before diving into the available treatments. The signs of cystic acne are fairly obvious- deep reddened blushes along with some papules along your face, and possibly around your shoulders or back. Even with these signs, it would not be right to call the condition cystic acne unless actual cysts develop on your skin.

Do women care about acne scars or just acne? I had cystic acne but had it taken away by using acutane, now i have scaring on the cheeks and chin. Ive been single for over a year now, and the scaring has my self esteem low. So how should I talk to women? Cons= shy+low self esteem+scaring. Pros= 6ft 2in, 136lbs, Athletic build (tall+thin but toned)

Obviously I know people will be concerned, and of course I’m aware of them, I’m taking action, right?
I think I suffer from something called Dermatillomania, although luckily it is not as severe as picking of the hands and legs, etc.
I would really appreciate a list of great advice, techniques, help, prevention, how to cover up minor acne scarring, brown spots (dried pimple areas), and other things like that.
People think that this can just go away, all it takes is power, but like any addiction, it’s really hard to let go fully.

I would most likely choose a best answer with a lot of information.
A LOT.
I will not takes “i don’t know, stop!” or a paragraph of common sense type answers.
Obviously I could have and did do that on my own.
Be creative, encouraging and gracious with your answers.

I’m 13, and have little acne, but many scars, so do you know any some remedies that can make them go away?

Thanks!

It seems that there has been a rise in the incidents of acne among adults, and usually the affliction lasts longer and requires longer and more stringent treatment. Spots, pimples, scars, blackheads, whiteheads are common complaints of a teenager. Acne is a universal problem that has haunted all of us at some point of time in our lives. Acne happens when oil or sebaceous glands come to life around puberty, stimulated by male hormones from the adrenal glands of both boys and girls. Sebum is a natural substance which lubricates and protects the skin, and under certain circumstances, cells that are close to the surface block the openings of sebaceous glands and cause a buildup of oil underneath. This oil stimulates bacteria which live on everyone’s skin and generally cause no problems, to multiply and cause surrounding tissues to become inflamed which gradually becomes a pimple.

Hormones are one of the main causes of acne. Besides hormones, there are some other factors that can cause acne. Food, pollutants, stress are the top reasons. Although there is no substantial evidence to prove this, we have been brought up being told by our elders that any form of junk food can lead to acne. Many suggest that we should avoid pizza, chocolates, greasy and fried foods, milk and dairy products, these findings are far from established. Dirt and other pollutants are also known to cause pimple. Stress, according to many can lead to acne as they believe that it causes hormonal imbalance in the body. However, experts say that there is no direct link.
