I have very painful cystic acne so my doctor put me on Doxycycline. It has helped prevent me from having painful breakouts, but I still have some stubborn ones above my chest and on my back. It has been almost a year since I started taking the medicine. Should I switch to a more powerful medication? Could these be MRSA boils?

I’m considering using prescribed acne medication (I’ve tried all sorts of cleansers and eating healthy but I’ve still got acne). Can anyone recommend which medication to use? Please let me know how well it has worked for you, and if you had any side effects. Do I need to use it long term, or can I go on it until my acne clears up, then go off it again???

Do some medications make your acne worse before it gets better?I mean, does your body have to get used to the medication before it becomes effective? I am fifteen years old, and I have suddenly broke out in acne on my forehead. It’s not severe but proactive or any other fash washes don’t work.
