I will be 33 in a few weeks and recently my breasts have been hurting constantly. I have also been getting acne but have never had a problem with my skin before. I do not believe that I am pregnant so what else could it be?

This is so frustrating!! Close to 40, gaining weight, tired, acne, headaches, sluggish, etc, etc…. Since I’ve gain weight I haven’t felt myself, just blah. I do exercise regularly and eat healthy, drinking only water. My family doctor says hormone levels are normal and thyroid is fine. She did give me Lexapro but I’m not happy with that as I heard it will make me gain more weight.. Grrrrrrr I don’t like getting older!!~ What else can I do??

I know that it’s because of over production of sebum and oil and clogged pores infected by bacteria presence, but I know that hormone imbalance is not the only reason we get acne. Besides poor hygene and etc.. But
1. Is there a way I can balance out hormones? (Lol) Like say.. yoga? Or something?

I used to have extremely bad acne. i got medicine and used noxzema to wash my face and now my face is doing really good. however, ever so often i get some bumps and i was wondering what could be causing my acne. It’s not just because of puberty because everyone would have it. I don’t have a lot of vegetables so could it be of lack of antioxidants? Today i started drinking lemon juice to see if that would work.

My dermatologist has long blamed “hormones and stress” for acne breakouts in his female patients. However, I always hear women talk about breaking out around their period. That is when my skin is actually really clear. I usually only break out midcycle. I’m tired of painful cysts that leave scars and want to figure out what hormones could be contributing to this type of hormonal acne. Are you a woman who has dealt with hormonal acne? When do you break out? Has your doctor identified a cause? What treatments have helped you? Would birth control pills make acne worse in some patients, rather than better? Please share your ideas…Thanks so much…

If you’re looking to cure cystic acne, I’m sure you’ve been given the same tips on how to get clear skin. You know, stuff like “wash your face” or “Use of benzoyl peroxide will help” or my favorite “A dermatologist can help.” All of these people thing you can get rid of pimples fast by giving the same old information that has obviously not been working. Don’t they know what it’s like to suffer from this problem?
People who give the same old advice are also first to deny any deeper underlying causes of acne, flat out disregarding things like the connection between hormones and acne. Wouldn’t it be great if the experts actually did some research into how to get clear skin instead of repeating the same old information that didn’t work before and definitely won’t work in the future?
