i have acne on my forehead
Hi all. I’m 21 years old and used to have mild acne when I was say, 14-17, nothing too serious. Was clear from that point on. Recently, within the last 5 months, I’ve been dealing with some severe anxieties and depression, two things I’ve never really dealt with before in my life, and I’ve suddenly broken out severely all over my face. I’ve been getting major cysts on my neck, as well as smaller but more frequent breakouts all over my forehead. I went back on birth control in the hopes it would clear things up (as it cleared up my mild acne way back when) – but I went on Loestrin for a month, had horrible side effects and worse acne, and am now on my 5th day of Yaz, and it’s just gotten worse. I’m not sure what to do!
I’ve tried to relieve my stress, I started yoga and meditation, I’m trying really hard to stay positive, but it’s hard when I can barely look at myself in the mirror without being disgusted with myself! I wash my face 2 times a day with a gentle cleanser, drink plenty of water, my diet hasn’t changed much. I’m just not sure what else to do.
I have suffered from bad anxiety attacks for the past 10-15 years. For the last 7-8 I have been taking both Zolof and Clozopan for this and I was duing things I never thought possible. Then about 7 months back I started having the attacks again and they have increased to the point where they are probably an 8-9 on a level 1-10 in how scared I am, rarely before did I ever have this level of attacks and they are also more common almost having smaller ones on a daily basis.
I noticed when I was taking a medication called Accutane, for acne, things started happening, and I am not sure if this screwed me up but I stopped taking it and things have continued. Since my anxiety had previously stopped years back I don’t see a therapist anymore but had to find a new one and he doesn’t do anything at all for me. He is a Psychatrist and didn’t change my medication and I really need help.
Acne is the all-encompassing term that refers to blemishes, blackheads, whiteheads and lumps on the skin. While it’s mostly associated with teenagers it is not necessarily restricted to any one age group. People of any age can suffer from acne.
While it’s true that acne is not a life-threatening ailment, it can be uncomfortable and can leave nasty acne scars. There has been a lot of debate on the cause of acne. One of the most recently discussed causes is milk. That’s right, the same milk that is good for our bones, teeth and hair is now apparently causing acne.
Not Just A Teen’s Problem Acne.
Red, inflamed patches on the face, causing a great deal of irritation and embarrassment. Acne. Pimples. Clogged skin spores. It is not only a teen’s problem. Adults get acne too, to their consternation and frustration. Sometimes, acne is so serious that it becomes a big problem: going out in public becomes a source of fear and anxiety. Left untreated, acne will not go away and will probably become more serious. To make things worse, acne leaves scars and disfigurement becomes a possibility.
Acne Prevention
You can possibly prevent acne from affecting your skin or at the very least, moderate the outbreaks. Science has not yet discovered a fool-proof method that will work for everyone with an acne problem, but there are many things you can do to control it. Treating your acne outbreaks properly is something that must be done, especially if you are prone to suffer from severe cases.
Acne is a very common skin condition which produces whiteheads and blackheads on the face and upper torso. It affects people differently, being mild for some and quite debilitating for others. Acne untreated or treated improperly can cause permanent scarring which requires extensive time and expense to effectuate any level of cure.
