Question by : How do you tell the difference between cystic and normal acne?
I read cystic acne was ‘large pus filled pimples’ and i have a few of those, but they go away relatively quickly, which i read cystic acne doesn’t. So how do i tell what i have?

Best answer:

Answer by juli
i used to have cystic pimples until i changed my diet,so this probably might help you——– a lot of food ingredients(not fresh meat, veg, fish, cheese, potato’s,etc) are man made from chemicals, now if i gave you a teaspoon of chemical to drink, you probably wouldn’t be surprised with the new cystic pimple growing the next day, how do i know? i lived this nightmare of cystic pimples,as one was dying, ping i could feel the next one coming, running home from school or getting up in the morning to look in the mirror(juli, stop looking in the mirror they won’t go any quicker),making excuses not to go out and staying in to apply mud from mexico, slime from the bottom of the sea, face masks made from kangaroo poo,it looks a little bit better(who are you kidding)why do i only see one person in every million like me,because they aren’t allergic to anything,oh no i got another one, this will be my last one,it’s the end of my teenage years, this will be my last one i’m thirty and a half next week. i had 10 years of them, left mums house, bingo month later clear fresh complexion,if i went back to mums big spot again, mum said you’re allergic to something,6 months later we found that it was a food (chemical)ingredient added as a food flavouring, sauces, gravy, flavours put on breadcrumbs, drinks, curries, lots of things. no more bending over when a fit boy passes so my hair falls over my face.it should be easy to find out what your eating that your allergic to
e-mail me if you need advice, profile page
p.s ignore memeber dr frank he’s a ————

Question by Tina: What is the difference of adult acne and regular acne?
I was doing a research I guess on body acne and saw one body wash that said was better if you have adult acne. Does that mean your an adult with acne or what?

Best answer:

Answer by Candace Grant
When you’re a teen, you get acne caused by hormones which will go away as you reach a certain stage of physical maturity. If you have acne into your twenties or later, the problem is less likely hormonal and more likely caused by a variety of other factors, like diet, lifestyle, hygiene, and daily habits.

I wrote a guide on dealing with acne in the adult years if you want to learn more about it – http://www.associatedcontent.com/article/5928174/dealing_with_acne_in_the_adult_years.html

Teenagers are the most body conscious people in our society today. Acne is one of their major concerns of teenagers and acne solutions are the first thing that comes to their minds. However, people believe that acne solutions can cure acne. Acne solutions are only solutions and they are not cures.

According to research, almost 95 percent of the teenagers around the world experience acne effects during their teen or early adult years. There will be times that acne will be serious and unbearable and sometimes, it will be mild and very easy to control.

A lot of people know about this concern so the market for acne cures is really huge. There are numerous acne remedies out there that claims that they can cure your acne. A lot of companies spend millions of dollars in advertising their products. They also made up wild claims about the effectiveness of the products and make guarantees that it will work 100 percent.

The truth is acne has no cure as of now. Even the scientist cannot determine what causes acne. The causes of acne are thought to be hormonal or a hormonal imbalance but it is not yet proven until now.

Even if the market for acne remedies is really huge, it does not erase the fact that acne cannot be cured. It does not mean that there are no solutions to acne. It only means that people must search for acne cures in the right perspective. You must not expect that when you buy an acne removal product, it will easily remove the acne on your face. It does not work that way. It will take a couple of days before it can remove the acne. It is not permanent that is why acne has no cure. All of the solutions available are only temporary so if you want long lasting effects, you must use this product daily.

You have to keep in mind that there are no cures to acne but solutions do exist and a lot of them are available in the market. You only need to understand the difference.

There are many acne solutions available on the Internet that can help you maintain a smooth skin. If you want to know more about the different acne solutions that are effective and affordable, please visit www.healthlearns.net.

Acne on face and body-

Most of us think of face when we think of acne. That is because of two reasons. Acne does affect face more than other body areas. Secondly we can hide acne on our back or chest, but not on face. Acne on face makes us self-conscious. Let us find out what is the difference between acne on face and acne on other body areas.

Acne- where does it form?

Acne forms on the sebaceous glands. Every sebaceous gland is suspect to form acne. The sebum that gets blocked inside the gland forms acne by getting infected. By this theory we can get acne on allover body except few places such as lips etc. that do not have sebaceous glands.

Sebaceous glands distribution on body

Though our whole body skin has these glands, the density is different. These glands are more on face and upper trunk. Areas such as feet etc. all have glands but the density is much small. Therefore we have more probability of getting acne on face and upper trunk compared to other body parts.

Is acne different on different body parts?

Acne as I said earlier is a disease of sebaceous glands. As the glands all over the body are same the acne is also same. There is no difference at all between acne on face and acne on the upper arms or trunk. Please treat acne on all body areas with the same medication. There is no difference.

Adult Acne sounds funny, doesn’t it? Well you will be surprised to know that adult acne is not uncommon amongst adults although acne and pimples are generally associated with pubertal youngsters.

Adults feel discomforted when they get acne affliction at a point where they had begun to assume that they were free from it. For those who withstood their teenage years without any sort of acne and were spectators of their peer’s acne-laden faces, getting adult acne is the worst sort of calamity for them. They often end up perplexed and upset. The oft repeated question is – isn’t acne an adolescent ailment so why now?

The bad news is that that acne outbreak in adults is a bigger problem than imagined. You will be surprised to know that about 40% of all acne cure products in America alone are sold to adults who have this skin condition.

One wonders about the reasons behind the occurrence of acne in adults. The reasons are many. The theory of poor personal hygiene seems to be the most popular one but is a myth. However, hormonal imbalances and blocked pores of the skin are a major cause of acne even adult acne. Infection of the sebaceous glands or defective closing of hair ducts on the face also causes acne amongst adults.

All acne to an extent is curable. So those who are acne afflicted need to relax. A lot of people are so exasperated with their acne that they resort to measures that do more harm than good. Most adults rush to the nearest pharmacy for an over the counter remedy, little realizing whether the medication would solve their acne problem.

Another fact is that most of the medicines and treatments are created specifically to deal with adolescent acne. Using the same line of remedial measures for tackling acne outbreak in adults, which probably might have different underlying causes, brings about poor results.

An important thing to note is that although adult acne is similar in appearance and form to regular acne, it necessitates more potent remedies. So what does one do when confronted with an acne outbreak?

Go to a dermatologist and get a diagnosis of the underlying cause of the acne. Once this is done, follow the line of treatment it demands. It could be a simple prescription drug that will do away with adult acne forever. And you would be secure in the knowledge that your one visit to the dermatologist to find a diagnosis and cure has been effective than shelling out money in that umpteenth visit to the drugstore.

All those acne sufferers stop feeling embarrassed. Just remember that it is not you alone having acne out there. There are many adult acne victims. All you have to do is get the right treatment and you will be an adult- free of acne.

Summary:

Acne outbreak amongst adults is a major problem which needs to be tackled in a proper manner. The first step is to avoid getting embarrassed and the next step is to consult the dermatologist and get rid of adult acne.
