I have heard of many people who claim to have solved their cystic acne problems through diet, but unfortunately it doesn’t work for everyone. There is some ambiguity on what a “good diet” consists of. For example, some diets are not too keen on grain and carbohydrate based foods while most nutritionists recommend a grain based diet. Also there are lots of books on diet and foods, and there are some differences in opinion.
Interestingly, many studies had been performed on the diet and cystic acne relationship, and none was found. Also, a sickness or disease caused by malnutrition or poor diet tends to linger on until the poor diet is rectified. For example, if you had a low iron intake, you would continue to feel tired and run down until your iron intake increased. Cystic acne (in most cases) disappears in the mid-twenties even though sufferers have made no change in their diet. Now, if cystic acne is a disease caused by poor diet, why should it suddenly disappear?

Adult acne is most often caused by imbalances in hormones and a poor diet. The hormonal imbalance is generally something that only a doctor can treat but what people don’t realise is that hormonal changes can be caused by diet too. So your acne problems could all be caused solely by what you eat on a daily basis.

With years of medical education and clinical experience behind these claims, how can we the simple folks who suffer from acne challenge these statements and think otherwise? The answer is: doubt. Doubt, if its stays in the borders of reason, can open many doors otherwise will stay forever shut. Believe it or not, doubt can change reality. Doubt can cure your acne and doubt can even save your life.

One of the most debatable topics when it comes to treating acne is that a patient’s diet is the biggest factor affecting it. It is usually regarded that fried fatty foods, junk food, chocolate and chili are the main types of food that can cause a big stir and are said to increase acne activity in acne affected areas, while a more vegetarian based diet is said to decrease the acne activity.
If you were debating on the opposing side, your first argument would be there is no scientific proof or evidence that the diet an individual follows has any affect on the activity of acne.

Acne Diet and The Money Factor: You Can’t Sell a Healthy Diet
Ask any medical doctor if there is a connection between diet and acne and almost all of them will claim there is no connection. Quoting from the Journal of the American Medical Association:
“Diet plays no role in acne treatment in most patientseven large amounts of certain foods have not clinically exacerbated acne”.

Adult acne treatment is more common than you may think, as many adults can be affected by acne in their 40s. What may not be surprising is that treating adult acne is pretty much the same as treating teenage acne.
If you are an adult acne sufferer, I would first and foremost recommend that you see your doctor before you start to wade your way through the countless number of acne creams that are available.

No one likes having acne. It affects adults as well as teenagers. If you are prone to acne, maybe your diet can reduce the incidence af it in your life.
It was once believed that acne was due to a poor diet. Everyone assumed eating too much chocolate or candy caused acne breakouts on the face. That was debunked, but it doesn’t mean that your way of eating won’t have any bearing on preventing acne.
Acne can have many causes. They all work together to make you miserable with whiteheads and blackheads. But the basis is that acne is caused by excess sebum (oils) clogging pores that contain hair follicles.
