My boyfriend and I have been together for three years, we are both 24 years old. The first two years I was on birth control pills. I started to hate them after awhile and stopped taking them. After that the only birth control we used was condoms, until that became a problem.

For one my boyfriend doesn’t like condoms because it takes away some of the feeling and also how he has to stop and put one on. But the biggest issue was a pregnancy scare, which turned out to be negative.

I was on minovral 21′s for 13 years. I am 26 years old and never had any medical problems during that time. I went off in August and now, in March have not had my period yet, not even any spotting. I have been pretty miserable besides that with a bunch of weird symptoms that I had never had before including: heartburn, indigestion, bloating, pressure in my chest, night sweats, hot flashes, insomnia, and anxiety, lack of ANY sex drive, acne….
Wondering if any or all of these could be linked to me coming off those pills?
ps, have been doing regular pregnacy tests so I’m defenitly not preggers!!

I just got put on this pill today and it is my first time taking birth control. I have a few questions…

1. Does this type of birth control help with acne? It says on their website that the “Lo” version hasn’t been studied for acne treatment, only the regular version. But has anyone had any luck with this?
2. My OB/GYN said something about how I should be on my period sometime during the pack’s cycle, approximately. I think she pointed out the green placebo pills as being about the right time for my period, but I can’t remember for sure. Does anyone know?
3. It says that if you are having sex for the first time, which I am going to soon, you must use a backup method of protection for the first 7 days after taking it (when using a “Sunday Start” like I am). I’ve heard that birth control pills take one month to kick in for pregnancy prevention. So for this pill, is it one month or is it only 7 days until you are protected against pregnancy?

Just curious, also how much weight did you gain? I weigh 100-110 so I’m not too worried about it but I do want to know how much I am working with here lol. I’m willing to lose it but of course I don’t want to gain like 30 pounds all at once.

I’m 20 years old and never used any birth control before. I went to my dr today and she gave me two months worth of Yaz. I researched it online and it’s scaring the shit outta me. Everyone is saying that they experienced severe anxiety and depression because of it and their acne got worse. I already have anxiety and panic disorder so does anyone know if it will get worse? i honestly don’t know how it could get any worse other than making me go crazy. . .but i don’t see how that could happen. Also a lot of people say it’s only for people with PMDD and I’m not sure if i have that or not. Is there anyone out there with ANY insight of YAZ that can help me???? thanks

I started taking Ortho Cyclen last week. Does anyone have any experience with this particular pill? I got it because it’s supposed to clear up acne, and stimulate breast growth. Of course, pregnancy prevention was my first and main concern.

I just started using Ortho-Cyclen. What are some of your personal experiences with this birth control pill? Was it an effective form of pregnancy prevention? Did it clear up existing acne? I’m also concerned with the breast enlargement side effect. Any thoughts or input is greatly appreciated. Thanks!
