It is essential to prevent this skin condition because it causes embarrassment and despair.

Once you know the cause of your acne, it becomes easier for you to nip the problem in the bud. Simply put, these blemishes can appear due to reasons such as heredity, puberty, improper diet or stress. However, deterrence in this case is easier said than done. It requires tremendous skin care and demands a complete change in your lifestyle including your eating habits and personal hygiene to overcome the problem of acne.

So are you ready for this change Here is a acne info checklist of the dos and the donts to avoid acne

What You Should Not Do

We shall begin with what we should not do because clinching old habits is essential before we form some new ones.

Please get rid of your habit of squeezing your pimples. Squeezing not only causes a faster spread but can also lead to scarring.

Scrubbing also increases acne by irritating it and exposes your skin pores to more eruptions.

Washing your face more than twice a day can actually cause acne rather than prevent it.

Refrain from using astringents as they rob your skin of essential oils as well lead to unhealthy skin.

What You Should Do

In order to stay away from the zits, you could try these time tested methods

Keeping your skin clean is the best acne prevention method. You can do this by rinsing your face with lukewarm water and a mild cleansing soap or face wash, twice a day.

Drink about two-three liters of water every day to get rid of the toxins that cause blemishes.

A low-cholesterol diet which is rich in roughage is very good for your skin and can prevent pimples. It is also believed that a diet that is low on sugar, coffee and chocolate can prevent bad skin. However, this point is still debatable.

Wearing too much makeup and excessive use of beauty-products are also known to cause painful sores. Avoid wearing oily creams as they advance skin eruptions.

Using Aloe Vera soaps or cleansers while washing your face can help avoid nightmarish bumps. They have a relaxing effect as they have anti-bacterial characteristics.

Finally, when everything fails, you can turn back to Mother Nature for help. Applying any one of the following can help prevent those unwanted mounts on the skin: lemon juice, limejuice mixed with peanut oil, fresh fenugreek leaved or apple cider vinegar. All these are known to prevent blackheads, whiteheads. They can help you obtain healthy and fresh looking skin.

Remember, pampering your skin not only does acne prevention, it also helps keep away those pus-filled, repulsive spots.
