Having acne on our back can very frustrating. It is a hard place to get to it and see what it looks like or to clean it up. You may find that you can hide it easier than on your face but that isn’t what you want to do. Instead, you want to look for back acne treatment options that can help you get rid of the problem completely. Trying these various methods can help you to successfully get rid of your problems with acne on your back.

One of the reasons that you get back acne has to do with it being a part of the body that can sweat easily. On hot days, your clothing may start to stick. Try to wear clothing that is made from cotton or other light materials that will keep you dry. Look for items that allow air to circulate. When you do get sweaty such as after you exercise, change your shirt if you aren’t able to shower immediately.

What you use to wash your body can also be something to look at. If you aren’t using anti bacterial soap you need to make the switch. You want to wash your back well, but don’t get too hard on it. You don’t want to further irritate the areas that have acne and spread the bacteria from it to other regions of your body.

The process of exfoliation is very important to keeping acne from your back. It can be tough to do though because we can’t reach many areas of our back. You will find various tools on the market that make it easier for you to do so. If you have a partner that you feel comfortable asking, they can also take care of this for you. Don’t use any salt based products because they will irritate the skin.

You will find plenty of types of creams and other acne products out there on the market to choose from. Read the labels carefully so that you are aware of the key ingredients. The best products for back acne are those with Salicylic Acid and Benzoyl Peroxide. Don’t waste your time on products that don’t provide you with those essential ingredients.

Again, you may need to rely on someone else to rub that product onto your back for you. Make sure you give it time to dry and that it is completely rubbed in before you put on clothing. You don’t want to ruin your outfits due to acne creams on them. Good hygiene with your clothing is also a way to reduce back acne. If you wear undershirts or bras, they need to be washed often. They can be collectors of bacteria that allow acne to develop.

Pay close attention to what you eat and you will find back acne clears up. Drink at least 8 glasses of water or green tea every single day. This removes toxins and free radicals from the body that could trigger back acne. Eat plenty of foods with antioxidants in them including fresh fruit and vegetables.

Answer by beatingyou85
I’ve only heard of doctor prescribed medication that can get rid of acne, i doubt anything else works!

You could try just washing yourself with water and exfoliating gloves in the shower as I’ve heard soap gives your spots!

Article by Daniel Hyde

Just like those with face or body acne, people who are fighting with back acne often wonder if any of their activities or actions are causing the breakout. Well, there are many stories regarding the cause of acne (regardless of whether on the back or face) and some of them may be a bit factual. Some are even of the belief that tight outfits can also cause acne to grow.

The simple truth is that back acne (much like acne on another part of the body) is not the result of a sole factor. But majorly, back acne is caused by excessive production of sebum, which results in the clogging of the pores. It is all about the activities of the sebaceous gland – you can’t just stop nature when it is at work! Eventually, when the pore gets clogged with build-up sebum combined with dead skin; acne is the end result

Back Acne can Get Challenging

In comparison with other parts of the body, there are more sebaceous glands on your back area, and coupled with the thickness of the skin on your back; back acne can be extremely persistent to treatment. But you don’t need to be concerned about that; you can always get rid of your back acne, regardless how resistant to treatment it may seem.

Get Rid of your Back Acne – Explore these Methods

Regular Washing

Regular washing is a common but powerful recipe for acne condition. It is strongly recommended that you wash at least 2 times every day using anti-bacterial soap. However, do not over indulge in this act because you can find yourself drying out and irritating your skin.

Also, you have to take your shower immediately after exercise or any rigorous activity that causes you to sweat a lot. The sweat on your body can mix with dirt and clog up the pores of your skin; this will likely worsen your acne situation.

Exfoliating

Do this once every other week. It will help to remove dead skin that can make your back acne problem even worse. You will find varieties of exfoliators you can try out such as loofahs and washcloths. As you experiment with these, be on the lookout for extreme irritation or deterioration of your back acne problem.

Think about a sugar-based scrub rather than the salt-based; the latter is milder choice relative to the salt-based scrub.

Using Medicated Creams

Benzoyl peroxide or salicylic acid is the typical cream or gel medication for the treatment of acne. Very carefully read and follow the instruction regarding how to apply any of the medications you decide. This will help in achieving a better and quicker result. Be aware that you cannot use benzoyl peroxide or salicylic acid simultaneously. You will also be informed of any likely irritation from the use of any of the medications (usually written on the direction for use).

Going the Natural Way

Natural treatments for acne are usually mild and safer. They may take time to generate obvious results, but they are effective for the treatment of acne.

Apple cider vinegar; this is among the natural remedies that helps in minimizing and treating back acne and also acne on the other parts of the body. It achieves this by eliminating bacteria and also balancing the skin’s pH level.

Tea Tree Oil; this has long been a natural remedy for most skin problems. The oil works to get rid of bacteria-causative organism that can cause a breakout of back acne. However, this is only probable when the oil is used consistently.

Aloevera; it reduces swelling and redness and also heals scars. However, aloevera will not remove back acne.

Back acne can be eliminated just like acne on other parts such as the face. But if your problem is chronic, it is recommended that you visit a dermatologist or a physician.

Question by Cassidy N: How do you get rid of body acne (chest, back)?
I have acne on my chest and back and I dont know what to do about it. I hope to get rid of it before swimsuit season. Any suggestions?

Best answer:

Answer by Katie
it’s one of those annoying things that are tricky to get rid of.
you could use a sun-bed, or just sunbathe, as UV rays are proven to reduce acne
also, any acne treatments or medicines you get from the doctor might help, as acne is caused by hormonal imbalance
if it’s not gone by swimsuit season, embrace it. it is highly likely you notice it way more than anyone else, and good luck! xx

Article by Charles Zoe

Acne is the most common skin disorder which predictably occurs first during the teenage. Acne is quite a problem to almost everyone. It does not only sprout up when one reaches the age of puberty but even lasts longer than that.

Back acne, also commonly called ‘bacne’ is simply pimples or acne that occurs on the back. While there is no scientific explanation for why acne occurs on the back, it is certainly just as embarrassing as acne that occurs on the face. Although acne on the face and back are formed by the same principle, it is much harder to cure back acne because the back is quite a “hidden” part of the body to ones own eyes and difficult to reach when you wash your body.

The reason is the oil glands and the hair follicles, where the acne infection begins, are found in over abundance in these parts of the body. Usually it is a bad case of severe infection if acne is spread all over. The number of the areas affected is a good measure of the extent of the acne problem. However, with a few simple rules and a little information, individuals can find back acne treatments that work and even prevent it from happening.

1. Tea tree oil can be an effective way to get rid of back acne at home. In fact, you can use this natural oil directly on your acne lesions–just make sure you dilute it with water.

2. While many individuals consider the things they put onto their bodies and how it affects acne breakouts, many people don’t consider the things they put into their bodies. Certain foods are more likely to cause breakouts, including fried foods. Plenty of fruits and vegetables are important for keeping the skin and body healthy, as are whole grains, fiber and Omega 3 fatty acids.

3. When you have acne appear on your back, the first thing you should do is not wear tight clothes. Tight clothes just make your sensitive skin more irritated and will cause more acne. Washing your body thoroughly every day, especially your back, is essential in acne treatment.

4. Clean bedding, including sheets, blankets, comforters, pillowcases and duvet covers, goes a long way to getting rid of back acne. Wash your bedding at least once a week to remove dead skin cells, bacteria and oil.

While prescriptions and over the counter medications can be a good choice for treating back acne, a homemade back acne treatment can be a desirable option for people who like to keep it natural and reduce their exposure to harmful chemicals and drugs.

Keep in mind that using a homemade back acne treatment can be effective, but it can also take a lot longer for you to notice an improvement. If you can control the reasons why you suffer from back acne breakouts, you may also be able to improve and lessen the intensity and frequency of breakouts. Bacne can often be caused by irritation of your skin, or basically something rubbing on the skin that helps to trap dirt in the pores and then may lead to infection or bacne.

The irritation can be increased if you tend to carry a backpack which also rubs on your back or any tight fitting clothing that does not allow air to circulated in between the clothing and your skin. Choosing clothing that is more breathable, such as cotton, is also a very good idea.

So what kinds of homemade back acne treatment are there? Some people swear by things they make up out of their own fridge. There are certain items that will work if you make up a mask. There are a variety of masks that you can create at home that you can apply to your back. You can create a mask by combining various ingredients into a paste and then applying it. A lemon mask is a combination of lime juice and rose water. Obviously, this will not be a paste mask, but you can apply it with cotton balls and allow it to dray on the skin. The naturally occurring astringent in lemon helps to reduce skin oil.

A simple tomato mask is made from crushed tomato pulp. Apply crushed tomato pulp directly to the affected area, allowing it to dry and remain on the skin for half an hour. The vitamins in tomato – A and C help to reduce the size of pores.

Oatmeal is another helpful ingredient. Cook the oatmeal, allow it to cool and add honey to it. Apply it to your skin and leave it on for twenty minutes. Oatmeal also removes excess oil from the skin and helps to prevent breakouts.

Mint juice and turmeric can be rubbed onto your back and left on for about fifteen minutes. This combination reduces inflammation and lessens the appearance of bacne.

Healthy eating, getting regular exercise and drinking more water are also tried and true when it comes to a homemade back acne treatment. Water helps to flush impurities and toxins from your body. Adding a teaspoon of honey and a half a lemon to the water once daily before you eat is another great home remedy. When it comes to eating right, eliminate refined sugar and fried foods from your diet. There is really no nutritional value in these kinds of foods in any event, so the less you eat of them, the better.

Back acne is such a common problem that it has even been given its own name – Bacne. The back seems to be particularly susceptible to outbreaks of acne because it is covered for a great deal of the time and can also have the air restricted by tight clothing, bra straps and heavy back-packs.

Bacne is sometimes not given equal treatment to facial acne because the very thing that causes the problem, your clothes; also do a good job of covering the acne. Just wait until summer when everyone wants to expose some more skin, bacne soon becomes a major source of embarrassment.

The good news is that the cause of acne on any part of the body is just the same, which means that back acne will respond to the same treatments that you would use on your face. There are just one or two other lifestyle changes you can make if you want to solve the back acne problem.

• If you take part in sports or physical work that makes you sweat be sure to shower as soon as you can after the activity. Sweat will just add to the problem of sebum production when it comes to blocking pores• As the back is difficult to reach invest in a fairly soft back brush so that you can be sure the back is properly cleaned. You don’t want to be scrubbing the skin, that can cause damage to your skin. Gently cleanse with an anti-bacterial cleanser or add a few drops of tea-tree oil to your shower gel.• Wear loose fitting shirts, preferably made from cotton or other natural fibres• If you sit for long periods at a desk or while driving, try to sit forward regularly and allow air to circulate beneath your clothes.• Make sure underwear is fitting properly so that you don’t get lines on your skin when you remove it.• If you use a back-pack try to put it down when you are not moving.

Once you have made those adjustments you can treat the acne in the same way as you would spots on your face. Give the area a deep cleanse each week using a commercial skin pack or make your own from finely ground oat-meal and honey. Clean the back each day with your acne facial cleaner or shower gel with added tea tree. Treat major spots with a treatment that will dry them out, toothpaste is a good solution for occasional use.

Your back acne problem will soon be solved or at least reduced if you follow these simple steps. And with the bacne solved you can look forward to those summer months and showing off your clear skin.

Back acne treatments are varied and numerous for different types of breakouts. Body acne is common among teenagers and young adults, with back acne being more likely to happen with young males. It is an embarrassing skin condition that has negative social implications and many people suffer from it. Facial and body acne often occur together but their treatments have slight differences.

Pores become blocked by dirt, oil or dead skin cells. This clogged environment is the ideal breeding ground for bacteria. As bacteria multiply inside the pore, it becomes inflamed and filled with puss. Resulting in a skin condition called acne. The back is full of sweat and oil glands and is usually confined in clothing, this makes it especially ideal for bacteria to breed and multiply.

Friction from snug underwear, tight clothing, weight lifting equipment, bag straps and sports gear rubs dirt and oil further into the skin pores. This is why they should be avoided during acne breakouts, stick to soft breathable cotton shirts just until your acne has subsided. Always take a shower after a work-out or a game. Sweat is another factor that makes acne worse.

Back acne can be treated with good hygiene and regular skin cleansing. A body wash containing salicylic acid should be used daily followed by the application of an alpha-hydroxy lotion. Glycolic, pyruvic and lactic acids are the types of alpha-hydroxy acids you should look for. They hasten the turnover of skin cells so that dead skin cells do not accumulate and clog the pores.

Benzoyl peroxide is another acne treatment product that can be used with alpha-hydoxy or salicylic acid. This may be too harsh for facial treatment, but the skin of the back is tougher and thicker. This enables it to withstand a more potent combination of treatment. Topical antibiotics are also subscribed to target and kill acne-causing bacteria. Detoxifying the colon is also highly recommended because this is where many microorganisms that cause skin problems thrive. A healthy colon usually means clear and radiant skin.

Regular soaps dry out the skin and your skin reacts by producing sebum. This overproduction of oil results to more skin breakouts. Squeezing or popping your acne will lead to further inflammation and scarring, so it’s best to stop picking on them and let the skin products do their work. Do not use body scrubs or loofah sponges. They can be used when your acne has disappeared, but during breakouts they can only make problems worse. Exfoliate once a week when the acne problem has been dealt with. This will prevent further breakouts by removing accumulated dirt and dead skin cells.

I was invited to a huge pool party at a huge mansion. I never get invited to these kinds of things and there are going to be A LOT of pretty ladies there I do not know. But the thing is I have back acne and I am very self-conscious about it. I feel like women will immediately write me off when I talk to them when they see my acne, especially since I am 21 and there is more stigma carried with an adult having acne. I would wear a shirt but the only reason a person wears a shirt in a pool is if they are overweight or have bad skin (I am also a little overweight) and just draws more attention to them. The party is in less than a week but I don’t know if I should even go just to avoid the embarrassment.
when I say I am overweight I do not mean that I have a huge gut or anything like that. I am just not very toned and a little ‘soft’ in the middle.

I live in Vegas too, what a coincidence
