Chest and back acne can be such a pain! I often don’t get to wear the clothes I want because I have to hide my bacne. How on earth do celebs have such flawless skin when they bare their backs and chests in designer gowns? Does anyone know their secret?

I realized that in the past, whenever my appetite disappears due to emotional overload (sometimes weeks at a time) and I don’t really eat… my acne goes away. My skin clears up and looks healthier. It must be your diet, you say? The thing is I eat pretty healthily overall. No white flours or refined anything, except candy. I always eat candy. I’ve always (and still think) that my acne is primarily due to hormonal imbalances, but without health insurance to help fix that, do you think sugar is the culprit?

How come pimple disappear when we dont touch or pop it? and where does it go to?
Isnt it better to pop a pimple since if we keep it there dosent it just go back in and another one forms?
Does your acne go when you period comes?like regularly?
Is it possible for period to become irregular after you 2nd period?

I’m 25 and I have acne. I’ve tried Proactive and that dried up my face so bad I had really irritated patches of dry red skin AND I broke out more. I’ve tried prescriptions and non-prescriptions does anyone know of good product or tricks that I can use to get flawless skin before my Fall 08 wedding?

i have the mirena and i am having mixed feelings about it and want it removed asap?

I had the mirena inserted on 4-7 during my cycle. It was quick and painful. I bled for about 2 days and the cycle ended as it should have. On 4-28 I experienced the worse cramps ever and recieved my cylce again. I am still on as I type this message on 5-7-08. I thought that things were going to get shorter and lighter. I never had a problem with my cycle or bleeding before. This isn’t convient for me at all. My husband is about frustrated with this whole thing and no sex. i have scheduled to have it removed in 2 weeks. My symptoms right now is bleeding, mood swings, acne (nasty breakouts) and anxiety. I want my body back and my life back. Has anyone had the same mirena experiences or had their mirena removed. Any feedback would be helpful. What is your Mirena story?

I was on Ortho Trycyclen for 8 years. When I got off it, I gained 40 lbs and acne on my upper back and shoulders. I can’t stand it. I went back on the pill. Now they said I have PCOS, so I started Yasmin. The acne has not gone away yet. What can I do to get rid of it on my back? For good? Sysillic acid? Any pills?

i recieved a trial kit for a certain medicated facial wash (much like proactive) a week ago. i was wondering if anyone knows…
if i start to use it but stop when i eventually run out, will i break out and/or will my acne worsen?? especially if i don’t want to buy the product again?
i dont have particularly bad acne, but the facial was is more of a pre-acne prevention.

Well, I’m 17 and I’ve just about always been shy, but lately I just feel like it’s out of control.
I think it’s ’social anxiety,’ like I’m always SO paranoid about what people are thinking about me and I just feel out of control.
Like, an example is at school during lunch, there’s usually a full table of people, and I just can’t say anything, I want to, but I’m SO afraid I’ll say something stupid or act stupid. And when I DO say something, in my head I’m just like “Ugh, they probably think you’re so weird. That was so stupid.” and just stuff like that. And I KNOW it’s silly but I can’t help it! And then I’ll think about it the rest of the day thinking “Ugh, I’m so stupid!” even if it was nothing anyone will remember.
And it’s the same way with texts, like it takes me forever to send a text (even if it’s to one of my best friends) because I’m afraid they’ll think I’m stupid or something. I hate it.
I’m also really self conscious, like I’m over weight and I have acne and I’m trying really hard to change (I’ve lost weight) but I’m still so paranoid people are embarrassed to be around me or think I’m weird..
I’d just say my biggest problem/fear is that people are embarrassed of me/hate me/think I’m stupid/weird.
And I’m just embarrassed to talk to my mom about it. I don’t want her to worry or feel weird around me. Both my brother and sister already have problems and I don’t want to disappoint her..
It just stresses me out even more.

So, is there a way to just relax and feel more comfortable around people? I’m sick of feeling this way and being “that quiet girl”
Would it be best to tell my mom and get help/medication?
I want to actually have fun my senior year.

Question about Anti Psychotics and Anxiety/OCD?

I suffer from Anxiety and OCD. I need psychotherapy urgently, however in the UK there is a waiting list of 12 months or more. I have been using the local Mental Health Crisis team who visit me at my home daily but find them inexperienced and useless.

I have seen the psychiatrist a few times and they insist that i take heavy anti psychotics like Olanzapine (Zyprexa) or Qeitapine (Seroquil) as well as an anti depressants. I have taken these drugs in the past and they caused an EXTREME increase in appetite and very much slowed my metabolism. Seroquil gave me horrendous acne which left me scarred to the point that i had to spend a lot of money of surgery.

However, these doctors will not treat me unless i take both an Anti psychotic and Anti depressant. I dont mind taking the anti depressant but not the anti psychotic.

Does any one know who or where i can turn to for advice? Thanks.
LaGail R. They DONT work. I end up even more depressed on them. The answer to my problems is NOT via drugs.
If something worked but didnt destroy my body then i would take it.

Are there some “perfect” girls with anxiety issues? What should be done about this?

She’s a teenager, almost an adult. She’s got long, wavy brown hair and deep blue eyes; slightly tall, slightly below average weight. She’s not trendy, and mostly she dresses really classy; sometimes she wears skirts or dresses and heels together. She’s extremely smart and studious, but very modest about it and one of the kindest people you could hope to meet. Guys absolutely love her despite the fact that she doesn’t flirt much. She’s gotten everything from guys: staring at her, awkward attempts at conversation, a love letter in her locker, a jock asking her out over and over, and tables of people making objectifying comments. She’s been asked out many times before, but has never once said yes.

The reason? It’s simple: shyness. She has a quiet lifestyle, doesn’t party too much, doesn’t go up to talk to people – instead, people are drawn to her. She has friends, but not a group of friends; she doesn’t belong to a specific clique or anything. She’s very worried about what others think of her; for example, she heard girls calling her “stuck up,” which made her think that perhaps she is. So she downplays all of her achievements (honours, losing 24 pounds in a year) as things she attained just by “doing what [she] had to.” She is extremely insecure about her appearance; she may not go on a crash diet or anything, but she spends decidedly FAR too much time and energy trying to make herself look perfect (no acne, perfect hair, etc). When she senses dislike from certain people, she’s becomes extremely nice to them in attempt to reverse that impression (not excessive, but quite nice). All of these things have come together to create anxiety; while she’s gotten fairly good at hiding it in public, she’s still extremely worried about the impression she gives others. It keeps her up at night and she’s seen her school counselor more than once.

What should she do? She doesn’t think people are taking her problems seriously, but she wants to overcome her anxiety.
Notice how I put “perfect” in quotations. She fits the stereotypical beautiful person ideal, but she is not at all very outgoing. I wouldn’t say she has tons and tons of friends or is particularly popular (at least, that’s not how she sees herself), but yes, she has friends of many different types and interests.

There is a slight chance I could be pregnant – what do I do about my acne medications?

I am married and we are not necessarily trying to have children, but we’re not trying NOT to either. Anyway, I realized after the fact that we were unprotected on a day I was fertile, so there is a chance I could be pregnant, though it is too early to do a test. What do I do about my acne medications? I take Retin A and Benzacyclin – both a creams that I use at the momen for prevention. I haven’t had a break-out in several months, but my dermatologist wants me to keep taking them for a few more months for prevention. I saw that Retin A MIGHT be risky, but it isn’t for sure. However, I haven’t really found anything on Benzacyclin either way, and I don’t have the piece of paper that tells you its warnings anymore.

What should I do? I mean, I know women try to have a baby for months before getting pregnant, so are the chances even that high that I am prego? Should I just lay off the meds for a few weeks until I can do the test and hope that my skin doesn’t break out? I’m also interviewing for jobs, so I want my skin to look as good as possible.

I have very little face acne, sometimes more than others times, and a little backne, but the problem is that on my chest I have one large spot of acne right between my biceps. It is pretty flat and there is never any puss-filled stuff. It is quite noticiable when I take off my shirt. . . My derm says it is very scarred, and although is receding(very slowly) it may never really be “gone”.How much do women care about this?

I am a fairly decent looking guy (I am rated a 7 on hotornot) but I have really bad acne on my chest and this makes me extremely self conscious. I wanted to know how much of a turn off chest acne is to women. Are women completely grossed out if a guy has chest acne or is it not too big of a deal? I’m still a virgin and am terrified if/when I take off my shirt the girl is going to have second thoughts and leave, is this a legitimate concern? I’m about to start taking ortho-cept (desogen) birth control tomorrow and i’m a little nervous.. after reading up on it a bit i’ve heard read a lot of bad experiences people had (acne problems, weight gain, mood swings, anxiety.)

i know that this might be a wrong section but i need help to get rid of the acne i have trouble with it im 17 now a year ago i had a lot of that stuff all over my face but now i dont get it much often but when it appears it on the right side of my mouth but now im getting it much often on mt neck ( on the sides and on the back) and in my arms
