Shaving causes me acne to get worse?
Do you have any tips on how to help this? My dermatologist said to shave in the shower, change the blades often, and to use a special medicated shaving cream. I do all three and I still break out mostly from ingrown hairs from shaving. Any other tips?
I’m 16 (almost 17) and have been dealing with acne for about 5 years.

How old are you, you may still be going through puberty or you have very sensitive skin,
Exact same thing happens to me, I do the same 3 things as you, only thing I can add is moisturizing well after – and again the day after or at night – it actually does help, medicated cream such as Isotretinoin containing ones help also.
Good luck!
Use sensitive skin razor blades as well.
exfoliate! yes, exfoliate. the reason people get ingrown hairs is because the skin just grows over the growing hair. if you use exfoliates, that layer of skin covering the hairs will be washed away.
you could rub lotion on ur face prior to shaving
u might be still going through puberty.
try waxing instead
and to help acne
drinks lots of water
wash ur face twice a day everyday
use an effective pimple zapper(try brands like neutrogena or clean and clear)
i would advise to stay away from proactive because i heard ur skin will get addicted to it.
try not to touch ur face.
and don’t get stressed out
stay away from fatty foods.
eat lots of greens vegetable and fruit.
stay away from sugary foods.
and try experiment with many different scrubs and pimple zappers.
cleanse ur face then crack an egg open. separates the whites from the yolk then put the whites all over ur face. let it dry then wash it off.(this will shrink ur pores)then use the yolk as a toner after wards then let it dry then wash it off.
and that’s pretty much i can think off
