I use Proactiv. My face burns.?
In case you need to know, I don’t have bad acne; just a few pimples here and there sometimes. I like to use Proactiv though, as prevention.
I use Proactiv on occasion, and almost every time, my face gets red, dry, and peels. I just used it, and it burns as well, so I tried to add some moisturizer, but that didn’t help, either. Should I wash it off and try to find another face wash for my sensitive skin?

Yup. (: Don’t use it if it makes your face burn & peel. The first few times I used it, it burned a bit, but it went away. You have to keep using it, you can’t use it like every week & expect it to improve. & hah, that’s the same reason I use it. Ask your dermatologist, what’s good for you. Good luck. Also, cetaphil (probably spelled it wrong) might work for you, I have very sensitive skin to. Good luck. (:
Proactiv is a very strong product. Its not recommended if you have mild acne. I suggest you stop using it because it will just get worse. Try using Neutrogena face cleanser, or something that is more gentle.
You might be using too much. You only need a small amount. And you need to get your skin used to it. It is recommended that you start using it one a day, or in your case I’d say once every other day, and then slowly start to use it more often. Don’t use it if your face is still dry from the last time you used it. But gradually start using it every day and if you want, twice a day. I only use it once a day and I’ve noticed that my skin is actually better when I don’t wash my face too often.
My best friend had the same reaction to Proactiv when she used mine a while back. Her dermatologist recommended her not to use it anymore because of the inflammation and irritation it caused. I suggest you stop using Proactiv and switch to a treatment suited for more mild acne and acne prevention. Clinique has a wonderful system for mild acne, as does Aveeno, both of which will keep the few pimples you have under control and prevent further acne without the harshness of Proactiv.
I’ve been in that situation and there is really nothing you can do about it. There are things you can do to try to reduce the blemishes and get rid of acne/pimples temporarily but you will always be finding yourself cleaning your face or your body depending on where it’s at.
I mean of course your acne should go away eventually but for some this is the case their whole life.
I’m 29 years old and have been suffering from these little pests since I was a teenager. I tried all sorts of face washes from the local grocery store and what not, but nothing seemed to work. If anything it would just make my skin dry and itchy.
Literally the best acne face wash I’ve ever used has been this stuff called clearpores. It has got rid of the acne to quickest and has been a success ever since I got it. It’s unique cause of it’s herbal supplement you take a long with it that helps your skin from the inside out. I saved money on it at skincleansingsystem dot com at the time which was helpful.
You should really look into this stuff and if you can to assure the best results, get the 3 month supply because if it doesn’t work it will still save you butt on the return policy.
Well good luck and best wishes.
