Help me with my acne! Any NEW or UNIQUE methods of treatment and prevention?
i dont have THAT MUCH acne, but i have maybe 10 or 15 relatively medium or small pimples on my forehead, and some also around my nose. I’m using Neutrogena gentle exfoliant 1ce a day, SFC lotion once a day, and DuAc once a day (prescription). However, i still get pimples, and lately ive been drinking a lot of water and not touching them because people say those are the 2 most important things for skin. but, i’ve been getting a little more than usual.
what are some of YOUR tricks and tips about getting rid of AND preventing acne??
thanks!

You have probrably heard this before but simply wash your face with a washcloth before you go to bed. Use a mild non smelling soap. After you wash your face, rinse the cloth and put acne medicine on it and use the cloth to wipe your face. Apply lotions and go to bed. Good Luck!!!
A good toner and relaxing. Are you under some stress right now? That could be causing the break out. Otherwise you’re doing everything right it seems. Also, make sure you are getting enough sleep.
Well if you have a prescription and its not working, next time you go to your dermatologist let them know that it isn’t working so they can prescribe you something that will work.
I myself take minocycline (pills) and ziana gel and it works really well. Occasionally i will get a pimple and I use clean & clear acne spot treatment (silver tube with a purple cap). I put it on several times a day and it is usually gone within a day or two.
If your acne is red and or swollen, be gentle to your face- don’t use harsh scrubs or a washcloth. Use a liquid cleanser if you can, and use your hands to lather. Dry with a soft cloth- don’t rub! Also, don’t use multiple products on your face at the same time- you won’t know what’s working or what’s not working.
Also, use lukewarm water on your face when cleansing. Cold water won’t do much to lift and remove dirt, and hot water will encourage oil production and could even make your face feel more dry and taut.
Acne is a bacteria, so it’s true you want to avoid touching your face (yes, it’s sometimes impossible to do- but resist all temptation). Your face could scar and that lasts longer than a zit and looks worse on clear skin.
As for magical products- I’m a fan of natural- so if you’re not already using a liquid cleanser try Cetaphil liquid cleanser- it’s soap free and non-irritating. You can either rinse it off or tissue it off.
I’ve had mild acne like you but my dermatoligist perscribed DIFFERIN which is freakin AMAZING !! It will clear your face up!
I’ve tried proactiv but it takes 2 mopnths to start working and you have 3 steps to do each night
With DIFFERIN all you do is put a dab on the blemish and within a week or less u’ll notice your face will be clearer
Try Differin !!! you won’t regret it
Good luck hope i helped
