Doxycycline used for acne treatment and malaria prevention?

Im travelling to Kenya soon for aid work, and im currently on acne medication, i was told by somebody that doxycycline could be used as anti malarial medication as well as for acne prevention, is this true?

The recommended prophylaxis for Kenya is Atovaquone/proguanil, doxycycline, or mefloquine. However, check with your doctor or travel medicine specialist concerning dosage, etc. The dosage for acne may be different. Doxycycline can be used for both.
Yes, you can use doxycycline for malaria prevention. Since you are already on it, I suggest that is what you should use and it is most unlikely that you’ll have to take a higher dose than you are already taking. And have a good trip.
