I never had teenage acne,
but once i turned 19 i started getting acne.
ive tried proactiv.
ive tried cetaphil.
ive tried nuetrogena’s main line (the orange bottle collection)
What is a good adult acne treatment without going to the dermatologist?

I am a college student, so I am on some what of a budget. Nothing crazy like the zeno hot spot price, unless its for more than just 1 item.

Someone must know of some products that work, that doesn’t cost $100.00. But if it does, I’m willing to pay.
I’ve tried everything over the counter,from mild cleansers and toners, facial masks, acne pills to ordering products online and thru catologs. They may work for a short time or not at all or it may make the problem worse. I drink lots and lots of water everyday, love vegtables and try to stay away from too much sugar. I know that any impurities within will come out but with all the water I drink, I’m not sure anymore.

I dont know whats causing it, I havent had any hormonal changes..I’ve been on the same birth control(mirena) for almost 4 years and I’m not pregnant. I wash my face every morning and night, and I use only oil free lotion. I’ve tried using anti-acne products…salicylic acid makes it worse, benzoyle peroxide burns my skin…and my doctor prescribed somehting but it just makes my skin dry & itchy! (and it doent do anyhting for the acne) I dont get a period anymore bc of the mirena, but it seems to happen once a month. Anyone have any other ideas that I can try?

I have tried so many products over the years from teen years to my early 20’s and I’m at a lost of what is going to work for me as I’ve noticed my skin has changed from teen acne to adult acne. I know benzoyl peroxide makes the acne worst, I know from pro-active products. Salicylic acid doesn’t work either also tried and made my skin worst. Iam now using Philosophy line with Hydrogen peroxide for adult acne, but I’m trying to be patient, but the only results I see is that there are more aggressive break outs. I hear that Gycohlic Acid is suppose to be good for acne, but I need serious help: I have a huge event in the begining of Oct.
