Acne Prevention Archives

I just wanted to know if it works,
Paid alot of moolah for it.

Im travelling to Kenya soon for aid work, and im currently on acne medication, i was told by somebody that doxycycline could be used as anti malarial medication as well as for acne prevention, is this true?

My skin used to be quite oily when I was a teenager, and I took Accutane to cure the unmanageable acne I suffered from. I am in my late 20′s now and have been noticing an increase in the oiliness of my skin, as well as pesky breakouts, mostly on my jawline, hairline and chin. For about 5 years, my skin was normal to dry. I have been on the same birth control for 6 years, which I know can effect your skin. Does anyone have any good ideas for cures/prevention for someone my age?

Weird question, I know. lol. Well, I’ve heard WONDERFUL things about using Crisco (with some essential oil) has a moisturizer. An older woman that I work with says shes been using it for years, and everyone thinks shes 20 years younger than what she is.

I’m all about preventing future wrinkles. After googling this Crisco theory, only one question comes to mind… If consuming Crisco is so unhealthy (due to the trans fat) Is there any way that the trans fat could absorb through your skin and give your arteries all the fat as if you had eaten it? I’ve also found nothing about it clogging pores or causing acne. Anyone with personal experience, and not just guessing?

Pick me a beauty regime? =)?

…please? I just turned 18 and I want to start a healthy lifestyle and especially take care of my appearance, not because of vain reasons, just to appear glowing and a healthy person. What beauty should I have?
-What should I wash my face with (you know..to prevent acne..cleanse it)
-What moisturizer should I use? (i just heard about them and i love the look of people who wear it outside and look all shiny and no wrinkles with good prevention)
-What are good wrinkle creams I should start to use? (i know i’m very young but i think starting to use them now would really be a great idea to prevent any wrinkles and age the best healthy way i could)
-And I also need to know this because I was asked to model high fashion, so I must preserve my youth, haha. Superficial industry, i know

Birth control questions–OrthoTricyclen Lo?

I just got put on this pill today and it is my first time taking birth control. I have a few questions…

1. Does this type of birth control help with acne? It says on their website that the “Lo” version hasn’t been studied for acne treatment, only the regular version. But has anyone had any luck with this?
2. My OB/GYN said something about how I should be on my period sometime during the pack’s cycle, approximately. I think she pointed out the green placebo pills as being about the right time for my period, but I can’t remember for sure. Does anyone know?
3. It says that if you are having sex for the first time, which I am going to soon, you must use a backup method of protection for the first 7 days after taking it (when using a “Sunday Start” like I am). I’ve heard that birth control pills take one month to kick in for pregnancy prevention. So for this pill, is it one month or is it only 7 days until you are protected against pregnancy?

Thanks to anyone who can help, I really appreciate it!
Just curious, also how much weight did you gain? I weigh 100-110 so I’m not too worried about it but I do want to know how much I am working with here lol. I’m willing to lose it but of course I don’t want to gain like 30 pounds all at once.

I am 18, I am developing a skin regime for myself to A. Prevent Aging and B. To have healthy youthful skin

I was recommended this:
1. Cleanse (Acne Solutions Cleansing Foam)
2. Exfoliate (Acne Solutions Clarifying Lotion)
3.Moisturizer (Acne Solutions Clearing Moisturizer Oil-Free)

Okay, so do I use them all at the same time in that order? And do I use all of them once a day, twice? In the morning, night time?

I am 18 and just getting into a skin regime to start to take better care of my skin now to preserve my natural glow plus age prevention. Unfortunately I don’t have enough funds to cover special cleansers, acne creams, toners (idk even know what they are, but heard you need them), moisturizers, sunscreens.. Plus all of that just sounds exhausting. So will it be okay if I use that to cleanse my face every time I’m in the shower, would that be enough cleasing and acne treatment I need? And if everyone knows a good skin regime for an 18 year old that will be a plus, and I’ll really appreciate it. Thanks

beauty tips for you!!?

here are some helpful beauty tips. =D

tips for oily skin-Oily Skin and Acne Breakouts
Oily skin doesn’t necessarily cause acne, but it can be a contributor to breakouts if the skin isn’t kept clean enough. Acne occurs when pores are invaded by dirt and oil, get clogged and breed bacteria. The bacteria in the pore causes swelling and the typical pimple is filled with pus, which is the body’s attempt to fight infection using white blood cells. Keeping your skin clean and pores unclogged is one important way to prevent acne breakouts. And it all starts with the way you wash your face.

Skin Care and Makeup for Oily Complexions
Some people think that removing oil from the face is like washing it from dishes: they use the harshest soap and the hottest water to get their skin “squeaky clean”. They never moisturize, and may even wipe their skin with alcohol to dry it out. The bad news is that if you treat your oily skin with harshness, it will redouble its efforts to protect itself—it will actually start to produce more oil to cope with what it feels are harsh environmental conditions! Wash your face, but use a gentle soap and lukewarm water, and don’t rub or scrub. Treat your skin with love and compassion, and it will respond positively. Use an oil-free moisturizer to keep your skin protected, and protect it further by using a moisturizer that contains sunscreen. Keep the shine blotted down by using powdered mineral makeup, which is guaranteed to give you a matte finish without clogging pores. At the end of the day, remove your makeup with a gentle, alcohol-free toner, wash your face gently, and reapply moisturizer before bed.
