Acne, Puberty, Worries!? Girls and Women only please!!!?
I know for a fact that many girls get pimples after they hit puberty. I have already started my period, have grown taller and I am very healthy (not fat! Thank god! It seems like a miracle!!!). Do all girls have acne when they hit puberty? And when I mean acne, I mean a big breakout. If not, what is the percentage of girls that do get breakouts? Many girls at my school (I’m only 12, 7th Grade), have already or are just getting done with their big breakouts. I am the lucky one and a lot of really hot guys are attracted to me. I want to prevent breakouts so I can keep the guys coming. Does Proactiv Solution help? Most of my friends who have used it say Proactiv helps, but I’m not sure. If you’ve used it, did/does it help you?

I have not had a breakout and don’t want one. So well… my real question is… Is it safe to use Proactiv to prevent acne?
I also have a LOT of pimples on my upper back!! I need them gone by spring and summer. You know swimsiuts and pimples don’t go well together! Proactiv?

depends on who you are. im 13 and i didnt break out that bad. mabey one here and there but it can easily cover up. dont eat a lot of chocolate and veggies can provent them =]
Proactive works…I’m a 4th year customer and counting.
Not every girl gets acne most do though. I don’t know but I am geussing 85 to 90 percent. Pro Activ was great for me, It may not work on U thoguh. All my Zits went away.
personally, i never actually got any big breakouts my self and im well past puberty. however, even if you dont have pimples, that doesnt mean that youre not gonna get em. i have used proactiv, but i have very dry skin so it made my skin peel. if you have normal or oily/shiny skin, then go for it good luck.
Yes, proactive does help. No, not everyone gets acne, but you’re very likely to get a few pimples here and there. No matter what, if you get pimples its not a big deal, but I can tell you’d freak out, so just make sure you was your face every night and you’ll probably be fine.
MOST girls get huge breakouts when they hit puberty. I was one of the lucky ones that didn’t. To make sure I didn’t, I used a daily facial cleaner in the shower every morning, and before I went to bed at night. Once or twice a week I would use an astringent. (they cost like $4 at any grocery/drug store)
Make sure you change your pillow cases often, and if you wear makeup, that you wash it off before you go to bed.
Girls tend to break out more during the cold season too, because they’re not in the chlorine and the sun as much.
Take care of your skin girl, and it will take care of you. When you start wearing makeup, and when you go to buy lotions, make sure they don’t contain mineral oil, because that can actually clog your pores, and its really bad for your liver. (but most products have it in them)
I have a perfect complexion hun, and that’s ALL Ive ever done. If you don’t have acne, I wouldn’t recommend getting proactive. Its really a waste of money otherwise.
If you want to pamper you skin, you can get one time use packets of facial masks at almost any drug store. And girl, they feel AWESOME. Ever put cucumber slices on your eyes? wow. try it. I t looks weird, but TRUST ME. its awesome.
hope I helped
kEEp up the pretty.
well i’m in grade 8 and i’m thirteen. Its good that you are healthy weight because its not good to be too too skinny…one of my friends just got over anerexia so its good that ur a healthy weight. i have a similar situation but i just want you to know that if you do get a breakout, and it sounds like you have good skin so if you get one it probably wont be bad that it isn’t a big deal because everyone gets pimples and guys no this! lol. i have never used proactiv, seriously thought about it but inever have, i use noxema and it works for me. FYI guys dont necessarily go for a girl because she has good skin, the guys where i live all like my bestfriend and she has pretty bad skin, she gets scars and red marks and bumps on her forhead and chest (you can see when she wears tank tops or anything like that) but they still really like her, she gets bugged a bit about it but its not bad, and there are some really hot guys that always end up defending her. So like i said some people have great skin and some dont my friend that i told you about had good skin in grade 7 but she don’t no more so find a good facial cleanser/moisturizer now before you get that, if you get that. i hope that helps, congrats on getting those guys attention, i no how u feel lol
you don’t reallt get pimples as soon as you hit puberty, youshould try to not eat any sugar and eat healthy foods, don’t waste ur $$ on pro-active, you should just buy like regular cleansers at Wal-Mart, if you don’t have any pimples, and you eat halthy and no sugar, then the cleanser should work….try nutrogena, or clean and clear face wash.
hey i know what your going through, I’m 15 and i’ve had a few break outs here and there but you shouldn’t be worried. Pimples are a part of growing up and most people will get them. Also if a guy really is attracted to you, he will like you not only for your looks but your personality.
Alot of girls do suffer from acne when puberty hits i sure did. Ihave heard that proactive works wonders, i found an awsome product called acne response from loreal its a three step system and is $18-$20 you can get it at target or wallgreens or a local store by you hope this helps keep your skin beautiful
Proactiv does help but only because you’re washing your face while it is a better way to keep skin clean you could use hand soap to keep from breaking out, and I stopped eating really oily and spicy foods too.
I have had bad acne since the 4th grade. I tried ProActive and it did not help at all! I went to my dermatologist and put me on Accutane, my acne and body acne was all cleared up in 4 months. You can go to your dermatologist and ask about it.
Most girls have acne when they hit puberty. sometimes its genetic. i’ld say about 80-85%. ProActiv does help. i’ve used it, and it helped a lot. To prevent acne, wash your face 2-3 times a day in warm water and facial soap. good luck with the hotties!
also, my sis has bad back acne, but it only happens right before her period.
Lucky you, I was the unlucky one with all the hits. Let me tell you that Proactive only works for a percentage of people and considering you age you may not be able to take that responsibility with all the different creams Proactive gives you. Also, you may be allergic to it so always try a sample first. I unfortunately didn’t and got an allergic reaction. On the other hand to answer your other questions, not all girls get acne when they hit puberty, but then a lot do. I’d say 40% get breakouts from my view.
i have used st. ives apricot scrub for a long time now..
i am 17 and have been using it since 8th grade. its great for your back too! but i was very blessed not to have too bad of acne.
